Why should I create a game library?
There are many reasons why you might choose to create a game library. To show off all the games you currently own, or have owned in the past, so that others who enjoy the sames games as you can find you (and you can find them), and to help improve the overall rating of individual games in the Games Vault are just a few of the more popular reasons.
Whatever your reason, however, the Personal Game Library is a wonderful feature of Napalm Riot. After all, we're all here because we love games, so how you choose to use it and why is entirely up to you!
How is my Personal Game Library different from the Games Vault?
Think of it as the difference between the games you have at your house, and the games available in the store. Your PGL is a list of the games that you have (or have had), while we're striving to make the Games Vault a list of ALL games. Ever.
The information on each of the games in your PGL (such as rating, etc.) is unique to you. The information stored on each game in the Games Vault, however, is accumulated from Napalm Riot's entire membership -- everyone who has had anything to contribute about that game -- whether playing it or rating it, fan art, screen shots, or just having it in their library -- is stored on the game's Vault page.
Why should I rate the games in my library?
Rating the games in your library when you add them effects the game's overall rating on it's Vault information page.
How do I add games to my library?
From the Menu tray, select My Games.
Here is your Games Library management page. The first time you visit it will be empty. The only thing you will see are a few boxes titled Favorites, Currently Playing, and Your Games.
Click the Add New Game button. This will bring up the game information tool. Enter the name (or part of the name) of the game you wish to add, then select it from the list.
Once you have selected the game, tell which platform you own it for. You may then choose to add it to your top four favorite games, give it a rating, and brag about how far (and on what difficulty) you got in playing the game.
When you're done, Save Game, and it will be added immediately to the Your Games box.
I want to add a game to my library, but the search can't find it.
While we try to have as complete and comprehensive a games database as possible, sometimes a title slips through the cracks. If there's a game that you want that needs to be added to the site, send a note to
ӝrotane and it'll get taken care of ASAP.
How do I set my Favorite/Currently Playing games?
There are two ways to change the Favorite and Currently Playing game at the top of the user page.
One way is from the Menu tray select My Profile. There, you can use the game search function to change your Favorite and Currently Playing games. Remember: submit the changes so they're saved!
The other way is to change them using the Games Library tool. From the Menu tray, go to My Games. To set a game that's already in your list as your Favorite, hover on it with your mouse and select the Star. To set it as your Currently Playing, hover over it and select the !.
If the game you want as your User Page favorite/currently playing is already one of your top four in either category, just drag it from it's place on the list, into the "Userpage" frame.
Why can I only add four games as Favorites/Currently Playing?
These spots are reserved for your best of the best (in the case of your favorites) and your top four most popular currently playing. You can change them whenever and as often as you like.
From a technical standpoint, adding more than four games would cause a lot of display problems for the pages.
How do I remove a game from my library?
From your Games Library management page (Menu tray > My Games), simply hover over the game in your library that you want to remove, and select Delete.
